healing your trauma
At Kindred Steps, we believe that healing begins with connection. Walking together, we combine evidence-based practices with your innate strengths and insights to enable you to triumph over the wounds of your trauma.
A TRANSFORMATIONAL
JOURNEY
We witness daily that the healing process is a profound transformational journey home to the inherent wholeness that is present in us all, reconnecting us to our essential value and capacity to live fully.
HOLISTIC HEALING

Trauma
A traumatic event can involve a single experience, or enduring repeated events, that completely overwhelm your ability to cope or integrate the ideas and emotions involved in that experience.

Relationships and attachment
Trauma that comes from your parents, family members, intimate partners and other caregivers can have lifelong consequences. It can be devastating and have a deep and profound impact on how we build connections with other people.

Brain and body
Studying trauma can show what actually happens in our brains, body and nervous system during and after traumatic experiences. Understanding this gives our clients the ability to calm their nervous system, process traumatic memories and work with body symptoms.
MELANIE

Valuing a non-judgemental, warm and compassionate therapeutic space, she works collaboratively with her clients, journeying together toward the outcomes they seek.

Trauma is not what happens to you; trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you.

WE ARE HERE TO HELP
Trauma is not selective. It can happen to any of us, to our friends, family members and neighbours. It leaves indelible traces on our minds, bodies and emotions, diminishing our ability for joy, intimacy and optimism. By working not only with our stories, but with the language of our bodies, images, feelings and sensations, these imprints from the past can be transformed, enabling us to find our way back to ourselves.
